While providing organic food online has always been in our plans, at the start of this year we were more focused on developing and opening our three Drumanilra Farm Kitchens in Carrick-on-Shannon, Strandhill and Boyle. With the onset of the COVID19 pandemic, we like so many others, had to revise our plans.
Purpose Driven Business
Our business has always been purpose-driven, and we now found an additional purpose, to bring local, organic, wholesome, sustainable food to people whose ability to travel was restricted, and enabled them to order from the comfort of their own home. The Drumanilra Online Farm Shop was born!
Organic Food Online
We began by redeveloping our website, setting up an e-commerce facility for online ordering, then sourced packaging to ensure our produce reached customers in the best condition, partnered with DPD to ensure delivery within 24 hours of dispatch, and established click and collect points at our three Drumanilra Farm Kitchen sites as well as sites in Mayo and Longford.
We are delighted that in response to our efforts, people across Ireland have ordered their organic food online from us, choosing either to click and collect or to have their order carefully couriered to their door in insulated packaging. Our wonderful customers placed 1000 orders in 100 days, and have had some lovely things to say about us and the food they ordered.
