Knitting the Wild Atlantic Way
The Day
A travelling group taking part in Knitting the Wild Atlantic Way stopped at Honestly Strandhill for lunch between knitting courses along the route. They wanted somewhere the entire group could sit and eat together, so we welcomed them into our private upstairs room.
The group asked for something hearty and wholesome that everyone would enjoy, without anything too spicy. We created a hot buffet centred around slow-braised Irish beef stew, served with mashed potato and vegetables, alongside a selection of fresh salads and baguettes.
The menu was tailored specifically for the group and everything was ready for them when they arrived, giving them time to sit down together and enjoy a relaxed lunch before continuing their journey along the Wild Atlantic Way.

The Buffet
Hearty vegetable soup
Irish Dexter beef and potato stew, slow cooked with herbs and tomatoes, with beef from our own Drumanilra Organic Farm
Mixed Honestly salads with Irish free-range chicken: beetroot, carrot and sesame slaw, pickled red cabbage, bulgur and kale salad, Honestly hummus, house chimichurri, dressed local salad leaves and toasted pumpkin seed crunch
