Perfect for anyone getting their polytunnel ready for a productive season, this practical course walks you through everything you need to plan and grow successfully. Although taught in the context of a no-dig garden, the techniques are very transferrable to any organic in-door growing system.
Across two hands-on sessions, you’ll learn:

How to plan your growing year in the polytunnel: layout, design, crop rotation, planting plans, calendars and sowing dates.

Nursery skills: seed buying and saving, the best varieties to choose, propagation methods, heat tables, using spring light effectively, potting composts and growing mediums.

Techniques for spring and summer crops: transplants, direct sowing, multisowing, bed prep, trellising and stringing, using fleece, tarps and microclimates.

Core greenhouse and polytunnel skills: compost making, weed management, watering systems, pest and disease control.
This course is made up of two sessions on the 15 and 22 April from 10.30am to 1.30pm. It will finish each morning with tea and coffee, an informal Q&A, and time to chat with fellow participants. Participants must attend both sessions.
