They breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and Valentine’s Day is the day we treat our partners to something really special, so Valentine’s Day Breakfast has got to be one to remember. Especially with February 14th falling on a Wednesday, it’s important to start the day off right before going about your day.
Love is always in the air at the bakery, with some themed sweet treats and a few ideas to make the day extra special. Here are a few ways to make Valentine’s Day Breakfast one to remember.
Freshly Baked Croissants
Pop in to Honestly Kitchen, head for the freezer section of the farm shops. Go past the organic steaks, sausages and burgers (pick some up if you’re cooking!) and you’ll find our Carraig Rua Bakery frozen croissants. They are pre-proved and shaped, ready to go.
All you need to do is move them from the freezer to the fridge the night before to defrost. Failing that, you can take them out of the freezer and leave at room temp for 20 minutes. Failing that still, they can be baked from frozen but it really helps the texture and flavour to defrost them first.
Get up before your Significant Other and pop the defrosted croissants into the oven at 180 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes. Soon your kitchen will smell like a Parisian café, wafting the aroma of freshly baked, all-butter, organic flour croissants through your house. If that isn’t love, we don’t know what is!
Serve with butter & jam, or go savoury with some high quality ham & cheese. With a good cup of coffee (we recommend Artessa!), the day is off to an unbeatable start.

If you’re in a rush, you can’t beat a fresh organic sourdough bread, lightly toasted, with eggs however you like them. With no added preservatives or nasties, this crusty, soft bread is a sure winner!
