Chef jobs – with a difference

Update 26th September 2022: We have filled our chef vacancies now with some fantastic candidates, so the job listed below has been filled. However, we are always looking for great people to join us when we expand. If you are interested in being considered, you can still email a CV to jobs@drumanilra.ie.

We know there are thousands of hospitality vacancies right now. So, what makes the kitchen opportunities at Honestly Farm Kitchen different? Why would you apply for this job over any other standard hotel or restaurant catering job?

Well, we think we have something pretty unique going on here. On the surface we serve great tasting burgers, salads, and sides. That can be said for a lot of places. What makes us different is how we get there – our story and our mission.

Here are three things that make our jobs stand out.

  1. This could be the view from your house.

Field overlooking lake, cows

Our organic farm sits between you and Lough Key

Looking to relocate to the country? We have accommodation available in two lakeside cottages for the right candidates. These cottages are on the shores of Lough Key in Co. Roscommon. As a result you have private lake access, so endless opportunities to kayaking, boating, island exploring, camping, and fishing. The fields between you and Lough Key are grazed by our own organically raised Dexter cattle (so you can really get to know your ingredients)! These idyllic cottages are 40 minutes from the restaurant, so you must have your own car.

  1. Our business is making changes

This isn’t your normal kitchen. Our ingredients are second to none, we truly care about provenance and quality. Our Strandhill kitchen has all brand-new equipment, custom built for our menu and service set up. We know our business model works – people want wholesome, organic, local produce now more than ever. Check out our sustainability practices here.

  1. Our team is exceptional

Your colleagues will include the usual kitchen team and Front of House staff, and beyond that you will spend time working with Orla, our Organic Garden Manager, discussing what herbs and salads she will be growing for your menu this season. You will also work with Michael and his team in the bakery, where everything from the brioche burger buns to the restaurant desserts are freshly prepared. Esmeralda in the Production Kitchen will make sure you have all you need prepped and ready to go. Our team is multi-disciplined, meaning everyone has something to learn and something to offer. Our chefs are at the heart of this.

Then, of course, there are the usual perks, and a few extras – very competitive salaries, company profit share, tips, company events, a company wellness program for you and your family, huge room for career progression as we grow and more.

We have opportunities at all levels in our kitchen – whether you have experience in a fast-food restaurant or fine dining. We will provide the training if you bring your own talent and can-do attitude.

To sum up, this is a unique opportunity for the right candidate.

If that sounds like you, send a CV to jobs@drumanilra.ie or apply online here
